Bloody Velvet and Red Lips

I just got a whole bunch of German posters from the late 60's, and here are my two favorites: Mario Bava's classic proto-giallo Blood and Black Lace (the superior Style B poster) and Jess Franco's ultra-entertaining pop-art piece Sadisterotica!

Quadrophenia

Here's a change of pace, some fairly recent UK posters in the attractive Quad format! I don't usually collect modern posters but as a lover of British comedy I couldn't resist picking up these. In The League Of Gentlemen's Apocalypse the fantastic original television series' world crashes violently with our own reality - great fun for fans, almost incomprehensible for anyone else! More well-known outside of Britain is Shaun of the Dead, which was a loose continuation of the TV series Spaced, in which Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright and co. perfected their art of pop-culture parodies. Are you local?

The Rain in Spain

I was hoping to photograph and post some new posters this weekend, but the weather has been so bad I did not get enough light! I should get a professional photo lamp one of these days...

But just to keep the blog going, here are a couple of Spanish posters. In the 1960's and 70's, Spain had a lot of great poster artists and these are just a few of my favorites...
